# Adding Swarmia to a Microsoft Teams channel

Swarmia's [team notifications](/settings/team/team-notifications.md) are a great way to stay up to date with all that needs your team's attention on a day-to-day basis.

If your team has a public channel, you should be able to choose it in Swarmia [notification settings](https://app.swarmia.com/settings/team/notifications). If your channel is missing for some reason, follow the instructions below.

## Step 1. Invite the Swarmia app to your channel

Go to the channel you wish to add Swarmia to and mention **@swarmia**.

## **Step 2.** Refresh the [team notifications](https://app.swarmia.com/settings/team/notifications) page

You should be able to see your channel in the list now.

## **(Optional) Step 3.** Reinstall the Swarmia app in Microsoft Teams

If mentioning your app in the correct channel does not achieve the desired effect you can try removing and reinstalling the Swarmia Microsoft Teams app. Please refer to [Microsoft Learn](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/manage-apps) to find out how best to remove an app from your organization, and once the app has been successfully removed you can find more information on how to install it [in the Swarmia app](https://app.swarmia.com/settings/microsoft-teams) or in other articles [in the Help Center](/settings/integrations/messaging-apps/microsoft-teams.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.swarmia.com/settings/integrations/messaging-apps/microsoft-teams/adding-swarmia-to-a-microsoft-teams-channel.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
